The Story
This Coopers Plains property cut their grid energy reliance by 70 percent. They were facing the end of life for their existing UPS system. Instead of just replacing old IT backup equipment, they invested in a 36.1kW solar and 48.4kWh battery setup. This makes them 79 percent energy independent.
The system generates 56,340 kWh annually under the Brisbane sun. We set the battery to always hold 40 percent in reserve. This covers their IT servers during any Energex outages. The remaining battery capacity powers the building overnight. It handles the heavy lifting when solar stops producing.
They claimed over $27,892 in government rebates upfront. The payback period sits at under three years. The system provides reliable backup power and an estimated lifetime saving of $384,063.
“Really happy we went with Connect Energy for this job. The boys were fast and did not disrupt our work at all. We are already saving about 70 percent on our energy bills.”
The client needed to replace a failing UPS system. We designed a Sigenergy Sigenstor setup with a 36.1kW solar array and a 30kW Three Phase Hybrid Inverter. We included 48.4kWh of battery storage and a Three Phase Backup Gateway. The system reserves 40 percent of the battery for instantaneous backup supply. The remaining capacity reduces imported grid power overnight. Directing capital expenditure toward solar and batteries instead of a basic UPS delivers an excellent return on investment.
