The Story
This Moggill property now generates 292% of the energy it needs. But here is the interesting part. These clients already had a working SolarEdge solar system on their roof. They did not need to rip it out and start again.
We integrated their existing SolarEdge array into the new system using AC coupling. The old panels keep producing through their original inverter, and we added a brand new 10.45kW array alongside it with a Sigenergy hybrid inverter and 45.2kWh of battery storage. Old meets new, working together.
The numbers on this job are huge. The combined system will generate 15,934 kWh every single year. We also secured over $9,038 in government rebates for the household upfront.
The massive battery capacity means they store plenty of subtropical sun for night use. They will see a full return on investment in under 8 years. Over the lifetime of the system they will save more than $76,091.

The Solution
This project is a great example of what AC coupling can do. The existing SolarEdge system stays exactly where it is, feeding power through its own inverter. The new Sigenergy hybrid inverter manages the new 10.45kW array and the 45.2kWh battery bank, and coordinates with the old system on the AC side. No rewiring the old array. No wasted panels. Just more capacity on top of what was already there.
